Homan Secures Record-Extending 20th Grand Slam Title at KIOTI GSOC Tahoe
November 10, 2025 – The incredible run continues for Team Rachel Homan. The Canadian club claimed a record-extending 20th career Grand Slam of Curling (GSOC) title after defeating Switzerland’s Team Silvana Tirinzoni 7-4 in the KIOTI GSOC Tahoe women’s final on Sunday in Stateline, Nevada. This victory marks the third consecutive GSOC women’s final where Homan has bested the world’s No. 2-ranked Tirinzoni.
Dominant Performance and Final Highlights
The Ottawa-based team of Homan, Tracy Fleury, Emma Miskew, and Sarah Wilkes went undefeated with a perfect 7-0 record through the tournament, collecting $42,000 from the prize purse.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling, especially winning a game that was a battle out there for both teams,” Homan said. “It’s just really fun to play such an amazing team, and being able to pull out the win is an awesome feeling.”
The final saw Homan jump out to an early 1-0 lead after a steal in the first end. Tirinzoni quickly responded with a deuce in the second to take a 2-1 lead.
Taking Control
After trading singles, Homan seized control in the seventh end. She executed an incredible redirect on her first skip stone, rolling in to remove Tirinzoni’s shot rock, and then connecting on an open hit with her last, scoring a deuce and taking a decisive 5-4 lead. Holding a slight advantage in the eighth, Homan forced errors, stealing two more points to secure the 7-4 victory.
- Final Score: Team Homan 7, Team Tirinzoni 4
- Team Tirinzoni’s prize money: $34,000
